Six Impossible Things || John Gribbin || Review

Reading Time: 2min 20sec

We, all may have introduced a bit with the term, quantum physics, the best platform of Physics where you can explain how everything works. As its laws are not such familiar, it is generally too tough for all to understand properly. The rules of the quantum world, which are used to generate the atomic and subatomic particles are the most important topics of this field. The “superposition” state has grabbed a great value and plays an important role in this theory. We can assume that a ‘particle’ has ‘two positions’ (or, multiple) at once. Now the ‘particle’ may be also a ‘wave’. At the end of 1920, Erwin Schrodinger revealed the equation that can propose to generate the quantum world of waves. And, Werner Heisenberg invented the equation that can explain the quantum world of particle. Then Mr. Paul Dirac came with his equation what can prove that the quantum world of waves and quantum world of particles are two equivalent versions of one to another. Here is John Gribbin, who has arrived with some topics which are impossible related to this quantum world.

"Six Impossible Things" is one of greatest works of Mr. Gribbin along with “In Search of Schrodinger’s Cat”, “The Universe: A Biography”, “Schrodinger’s Kittens and the Search for Reality”, “Computing With Quantum Cats”, “Einstein’s Masterwork: 1915 and the General Relativity”, “13.8: The Quest to Find the True Age of the Universe and the Theory of Everything”. Being a portrayal of “The ‘Quanta of Solace’ and the Mysteries of the Subatomic World”, this masterpiece book has presented itself. John Gribbin is now one of the popular and compact writers of the Science genre. This book was shortlisted for the prestigious “The Royal Society Insight Investment Science Book Prize 2019”.

CONTENTS

At first, Mr. Gribbin has tried to set up our places near this topic. That is why he started with two descriptive writings which are able to create the impression in readers’ mind, such as:
01. The Central Mystery
02. The Tangled Web
Then he directly took the way to enter in his topics. Before these, he added some lines running the head, "What's it All About, Alfie? / The Need for Quantum Solace" and in this PREFACE, he has given some instructive writings what he seemed that his readers should know— "Before offering those interpretations, though, I ought to make it clear just what it is we are trying to interpret. Science often proceeds in fits and starts. In this case, though, it seems appropriate to begin, with another nod to Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, with two fits.”
Well, let straightly flash the main discussible concepts which have been marked as "impossible".
SOLACE 1. The Not So Wonderful Copenhagen Interpretation
SOLACE 2. The Not So Important Pilot Wave Interpretation
SOLACE 3. The Excess Baggage Many Worlds Interpretation
SOLACE 4. The Incoherent Decoherence Interpretation
SOLACE 5. The Ensemble Non-Interpretation
SOLACE 6. The Timeless Transactional Interpretation

So, you may have got the idea about which direction the book has gone towards. How Mr. Gribbin has cemented the structure of its and made them friendly for all that we have to appreciate his skill of writings. And I personally like to recommend this book to them, are interested in such topics.

Personal Rating: 5/5
